Wardrobe Wednesday: a worthwhile inVESTment

Style

Fall weather is here (FINALLY) and it’s time for vest season! New England’s sunny days and chilly nights call for layers, but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice style. A vest is an easy way to enhance any outfit and can secretly be worn several times when paired with the right accessories for a new look. Take a peak at some my fall favorites:

1. Barbour Quilted

Did someone say cider doughnuts? This quilted vest is ideal for the fall activities we love to document, such as APPLE PICKING! Pair it with a signature flannel on warmer days or a camel turtleneck sweater when things cools down. Unlike other quilted vests, this piece has some shape to it so you won’t get the marshmellow look…you’re welcome.

2. Nordstrom Shearling

No more coats inside a restaurant to fight the fall breeze. After all, you’ve spent a lot of time getting ready to look your best. Whether it’s date night or dinner with the girls, a faux shearling vest is the way to go. Pair it with a chunky necklace and booties for a dressier look. Oh and by the way, it’s SUPER soft!

3. DEAL: Target Woven Plaid

This vest is by far the coziest way to keep warm this season. A bargain at just $26.99, this vest is perfect for a football game or snuggling by the fire. This piece can easily fit over a long sleeve shirt or chunky sweater based on whatever mother nature throws your way. Pair it with black over the knee boots or a wool floppy hat to kick it up a notch.

4. Patagonia Nano Puff

Warm? Check! Water-resistant? Check! Windproof? Check! Those of you who are looking for a way to work out as the weather changes, this vest is a nice option. Great for outdoor hikes, layering over your favorite running top or simply wearing with yoga pants while doing errands (we know that’s what you’re thinking anyway). Pair it with leggings and sneakers for an athletic, casual look. As an added bonus, you can continue to wear this vest well into the winter as a shell under your ski coat!
